What Folks are Sayin'...

Bluegrass: A Novel by Peter Pappalardo"Thanks for your book. It's a must for anyone interested in our type of music and the heritage of the earlier days. It's nice to read things of interest and also with value. As a musician, we both know it's hard to travel all the miles we do, but what makes it all worthwhile are the great fans and friends on the other end of the trip. It's also great that there are still some rednecks in PA., and I think you should be proud of that. For all my friends, I suggest that you buy this book and enjoy!"
Regards - Ronnie Reno

"If you pick it up expecting a smooth read about some string-pluckin', beer-drinkin' country boys you've got another thing coming. This book presents a complex cast of finely delineated characters who experience the total drama of life. There is bluegrass music, yes, some song lyrics and some poetry, and – a book, "A Moderately Poetic Quasi-History of Pennsylvania," which is being read aloud throughout the novel. During his 25 years of teaching the author has learned a thing or two. His knowledge of the flora and fauna of Pennsylvania (and elsewhere) is impressive. Bravo, Pappalardo! I gotta read this again! Back to the beginning, boys."
Bob Dorough - musician, writer/producer

"We have a copy on the bus we take turns reading, and we had a great time laughing at the stories and trying to figure out who the people were. There were so many characters that were true to life for us. It was a fun, fascinating read, from Chat Dalton's garage, to life in Pigeon Forge, to the bluegrass world. If you like bluegrass, you'll like this."
Dan Paisley - The Southern Grass

"He got Pennsylvania just right. It's a strange state with a lot to offer, and we should know, because we've driven over most every square inch of it. It's bigger than you think, too. Heck, if you ironed it out, it'd be bigger than Texas!"
T.J. Lundy - The Southern Grass

"When you see a turtle on a fencepost, you don't need to ask what happened."
Jimmy Martin
